  • Health Centers in Schools recently named Jennifer Kullman Levy, RN, MSN as the new director of Clinical Services and Training Coordinator. Although new to the position, Jennifer is really not new to HCS—prior to obtaining her Master’s in Nursing Education, Jennifer was a school nurse in EBR schools for HCS. Jennifer has extensive experience in a variety of settings—hospital, clinic and schools—that will be very helpful in overseeing the nursing operations and administering the training program for HCS.
  • After obtaining her Masters in Education and Bachelor’s from LSU, Jennifer was a teacher in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System for five years. Switching fields, she moved into the medical field and earned an Associate’s degree in Nursing from OLOL College. Jennifer then worked for various entities as a clinic nurse, labor and delivery nurse, and then as a school nurse for HCS. Wanting to learn more about the nursing field, Jennifer went on to gain a Master’s degree in Nursing Education from the University of Phoenix and then became an IVF Nurse Coordinator in reproductive medicine.
  • Upon returning to HCS, Jennifer jumped into the training field with both feet leading the planning of the 2016 Back2School Team Training and Summer Health Conference. School nurses and school-based health center staff have required annual courses to ensure they have the skills to administer services to students. In addition to required training, Jennifer will also be bringing current topics to the table that team members will encounter in the schools, including issues relating to the community and the environment.
